The World War I Started - 934 Words

World War I began in 1914 and ended 5 years later in 1919. World War II began decades later in 1939 and ended 6 years later in 1945. World War I began when nationalism rose. When nationalism was on the rise they thought it would increase loyalty in the country. Instead of loyalty, people began to want more power. Archduke Ferdinand was the leader of Hungary. He was assassinated by a Serbian terrorist and this later lead to World War I. World War II began because they fought to defeat complete control by one person. Most of Europe had then been taken over by Nazi’s and Adolf Hitler. The war ultimately began when Germany invaded Poland. The fighting in World War I involved two major groups. Austria, Hungary, Germany, Bulgaria, and Turkey were fighting furiously against the United States, Britain, France, Russia, Belgium, Serbia, Greece, Romania, Montenegro, Portugal, Italy, and Japan. While in World War II a smaller group was at war. Germany, Italy, and Japan fought against Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, Soviet Union, China, and the United States. The methods of warfare in World War I were using gas against enemy troops. World War I was the first time aircraft was offensively used in warfare. Technology, transportation and, weapons used in World War I consisted of many things. There were tanks, which created a new type of fighting vehicle form.
