Everyone has heard of the horrendous period from 1941-1945. This was known as the Holocaust, which was the racial extermination of approximately six million European Jews during population warfare II. Wiesel was born September 30, 1928 in a township called Sighet in Transylvania, which was part of Romania. The family consisted of four children.
